Our Community
We advocate on behalf of our MTB community with the City Council to get more areas opened up to trails, new trails built and existing trails maintained.
World Off Road Development (WORD)
Founded in 2013, World Off-road Riding Department is a non profit mountain bike organisation based in Wellington, Wānaka, and Christchurch (new for 2022!), Aotearoa providing after school programmes and holiday camps for kids age 7-17 years old.
Mākara Peak Supporters Club
The Mākara Peak Mountain Bike Park Supporters (often referred to as ‘the Supporters’) are a volunteer organisation that was established in 1998 and are made up of keen mountain bikers, runners, walkers and residents with a passion for Mākara Peak.
Revolve
Revolve is a fun cycling club for women of all abilities and skill levels.
From first time riders to women racing every weekend, we all are stoked to ride our bikes! There’s heaps of fun to be had on the road and trails.
Wellington Mountain Bike CLub (WMTBC)
The Wellington Mountain Bike Club is a charitable organisation based in Wellington, New Zealand. They support the local mountain biking community through: trail building, advocacy, mountain bike events.
Brooklyn Trail Builders
Over the past 10+ years BTB have built (and now maintain) a series of tracks running about 15 kms from Aro St (in the suburb of Aro valley) to Hawkins Hill, climbing over 400 vertical meters. This is all done in close collaboration with Wellington City Council (the landowners) and the Wellington Mountain Bike Club.

Before enlightenment, I built trails. After enlightenment, I built trails." Connecting people with the environment and improving the lot of both. I've also been running and riding the trails from the early 90's. Wellington is so blessed with green spaces. Marvellous stuff.

Kate McIlroy
I grew up running all over Wellington's trails eventually turning my passion into a job living as a professional athlete for 15 years. I now work at xero in the marketing team while trying to learn how to wheelie and bunnyhop on my Specialized Epic, and of course still dabbling in a few start lines.

When it is fine I ride, do track work and plant trees. When it is wet I do track work, plant trees and play with Xero. I am also the Treasurer of the Wellington MTB Club.

Izy grew up riding the trails of Wellington from a young age, when she's not riding you'll find her studying to be a paramedic or coaching at WORD.

Anthony Edmonds
Anthony Edmonds is a keen mountain biker and trail runner. When he's not running or riding he works in the investment industry, where he is the founder of InvestNow and Implemented Investment Solutions.

Courtenay Jamieson
Courtenay spent 12 years in competitive cheerleading before discovering her passion for mountain biking. She now volunteers with the women's cycling club Revolve, teaches kids mountain biking through WORD, and helps out with various mountain biking events such as Crankworx & Trans NZ Enduro. Favourite trail - Mystic Portal.

Geoff Drury
I'm a new addition to Trails Wellington, joining in late 2020 and excited to think what we can accomplish for future generations of riders. My passion for MTB started when I was in my early 20's and continues strongly to today. I bring with me a long career in operations management at national level in the automotive industry and more recently in commercial construction.

Lover of all things about Wellington, Matt started riding and building trails in Wellington in the late 90s. He co-formed a tech consulting company (Davanti) in 2007 and sold it in 2019.

Jono Baddiley
Jono Baddiley has been mountain biking in Wellington since the early 90's, and with a few friends built Deliverance in 1999. When not riding, he works in the tech sector, and is the President of the Wellington MTB Club.
